Nutrisystem's diet delivery program is based on a diet of low Glycemic Index, "good carb" foods with the addition of Omega 3 fats for heart health.
The meals are also low in fat and include enough protein and fibre to help keep your blood sugar stable. This helps you avoid those dreaded weak, hungry feelings you get when dieting. According to a recent Woman's World article, people with unstable blood sugar have been shown to lose 200% more weight on a low glycemic diet (like Nutrisystem) than on a traditional diet. With the program you eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert every day (plus other fruits and vegetables that you buy yourself).
How It Works: This is actually one of the easier programs out there. You choose the program that fits your needs (Women’s, Men’s, Women’s Over 60, Men’s Over 60, Type II Diabetic or Vegetarian). Then choose the foods you’d like to eat from 170 prepackaged entrees, snacks and desserts. You’ll select one breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert for each day. (You can also choose the 'Favorites' menu where the meals are chosen for you based on popularity) You order 28 days at a time. Once you place your 28-Day order, your food will arrive around 6-10 business days later. The food comes with heating instructions and usually take about 5-10 minutes to prepare. Although about 1/3 of Nutrisystem meals do have some preservatives, there is no MSG, trans-fats or aspartame used in the food - a huge selling point for many people concerned about health.
